Aaden's 3rd Birthday Party

Aaden's birthday happened to fall on the day we were to arrive in Capitola - so we figured it would be fun to celebrate there, on the beach, with our family that was already going to be in Capitola.  Katie and the girls were able to join us too.  And Aunt Sis and the grandparents.  It was a little stressful trying to get packed up, get there, unload, park, and then get to the beach but we did it.  And we were only 2 hours late ;-)  (Thank goodness for Aunt Sis - she helped us sooo much that day - if it weren't for her we would have been 4 hours late I'm sure!)
Looking so serious and concerned at his beach party
Addison's first trip to the beach
She just really loved eating the sand
Cianna & Addison
So cute!
Aaden and Aunt Sis coming back from checkin' out the ocean
Hangin' on for dear life!
He did NOT want to go in the water!

Livie loved it though
And so did the Sparling girls
Auntie Sis and Sissy
Cianna :-)
Sissy was intrigued by the wet sand and seaweed
And then she got hit by a wave
And she was pissed!
I think she's pretty cute when she's upset
Aaden was perfectly happy watching the waves with Grandma and Grandpa
Watchin' the kids play
Time to open some gifts
Awesome CAT dumptruck from the Sparlings
Addison chomped on this pizza crust for quite a while
And it was completely covered in sand
We were all pretty entertained by how much she dug it!
Nom, nom, nom
Looking out over the same spot we played decades ago
Love this picture
The kids were excited to see this plane flying over us
Drunk guy passed out right in the sand
And then out of no where popped up and was so excited to see his friend
He was even clapping - LOL
Katie running down to the water with her girls
Aaden chasing birds with Emery and Ellie (they are waaay ahead of him!)
He put up a good effort though
Our double stroller turned triple!
Love that the Fog Bank sign is in the background
Sweet kids
Aaden's cake -
glad he knew who Jake and the Neverland Pirates were because
this was the only beachy-boy cake available
Being bashful during "Happy Birthday"
Seriously, that girl is so cute and so full of personality!
And Aaden's expression looks just like Aaron
Blowing out the candle
(actually, this was a reenactment since I missed the first time)
Opening more gifts
Cool stomp rockets from the Muenzers
So cute! So excited for his barn
And tractors
Setting up his barn
This tractor was from the Wallers Jr later that night
We had so much fun and more importantly, so did Aaden!!
