5 Months!

Aaden turned 5 months old today!  This was a super exciting milestone for us because he got to start solid foods today!  His pediatrician recommended starting him on yellow/orange veggies at 5 months and then cereals at 6 months.  So today he tried sweet potatoes.  He wasn't too sure of them at first but then he started to get into it.  It was very messy to say the least!  I think his favorite part was putting his bib in his mouth after each bite.

Month 4-5

Time is flying by! 

• Aaden just loves his Papa, he can make him laugh and smile
• Aaden started daycare on Jan 3rd.  I'm so proud of him because he is adjusting so well.  He's doing really great there and I'm so happy about it.
• He rolled over for the first time on Jan 5th!  From belly to back.  Aaron, my Mom, Christopher and I were all there to witness it.  He rolled and then we were all excited (except Christopher because he didn't know it was a big milestone) but Aaden just looked up and had this expression like, "What?  What's the big deal? That was super easy"
• Aaden had his 4 month check up on Jan 14th, he weighed 16lbs and was 24"  long.  His HC was 40cm
• Aaden has started going through the "4-month wakeful period".  He will go to sleep and 15 minutes later will wake up screaming crying for no reason.  And the only thing he wants is for me to hold him and rock him.  He'll do this a few times before he finally goes down for the night.  I hope it doesn't last long.
• He is starting to squeal now and is making new noises all the time.  He is definitely finding his voice.  It's so much more fun than all the grunting!
• He absolutely loves his jumperoo, he even tried to jump/bounce when you hold him standing up and rocks when you hold him on your lap.  He even tries to jump while he's in his exersaucer
• On Jan 22nd he slept in his crib for the first night...(that was the only time though, I wasn't ready for the transition)
• Loves taking his paci out and trying to put it back in...he's pretty much obsessed with doing this. He does it all.the.time.

Aaden's New Toy

Aaden is a very active boy.  He got a jumperoo from Emmy for Christmas and he loves it!  He jumps like crazy in it!  It wears him out sometimes and he's actually fallen asleep in it a few times!

2/15/11 ETA: Since Aaden has gotten this, he jumps and rocks all the time now!  When he's standing on your lap he'll start trying to jump/bounce.  And when he's sitting on your lap he rocks back and forth.  It's so funny! I think this toy has really helped him develop his core strength because he sits up so well now! 

4 Months Old!

3-4 Months

11/30/10-12/29/10

• Nicole and Alec absolutely love being Aunt and Uncle.  They come over at least weekly to hang out and we have dinner.  It's so awesome.  Having Aaden has definitely brought us closer together and I couldn't be happier!
• Uncle Brother is pretty amazed by the little man too...he calls him Baby Boy.  He is constantly taking pictures of him on his phone.
• On Dec 2nd, Aaden started to laugh a little.  It's so cute.  It's just the beginning of a laugh right now but I love it!  I was giving him raspberries on his tummy while he was on his changing table and apparently he got a kick out of it! ;)
• By Dec 8th he was full on laughing now!  He gets a kick out of Papa making farting noises. 
• He is starting to have more and more fun with toys that he can grab.  He loves a little blue fuzzy blanket that Ann gave to him.  I think the love started with burp rags and we replaced it with the blankie.
• On the 15th we got Aaden's first Christmas tree!  I think next year we are going to get our regular tree and then get a small one for all of his ornaments...he got a few Baby's 1st Christmas ones and some personalized ones too
• Aaden freakin' hates when I sing "Jingle Bell Rock" to him, he gets a total pouty lip.  It's hilarious.  I knew I couldn't sing well, I just didn't know it was that bad ;)
• Right now Aaden's favorite things are his activity mat, the swing, and the exersaucer

• I want to memorize all of Aaden's expressions.  He is super expressive and I love all his cute faces.  I wish I could capture every expression in pictures
• And I hope I can always remember the time that Aaron and Aaden were laughing at each other while Aaden was standing on Aaron's lap and Aaden had a spit up all over his face.  Aaden was cracking up so hard and it made Aaron laugh so hard he started crying.  It was just one of those moments that you hope you never forget!

Aaden's First Christmas

Aaron had to work on Christmas day so we celebrated with his family on Christmas Eve day.  It was nice because we actually got to spend a lot of time out at his parents and no one was rushing around.  I think we might try to do that from now on.  I hope so anyway because I also get to spend more time with my family for Christmas this way too.

3 Months Old!

Again, I suck.  I didn't even get a pic of Aaden til he was ready for bed.  I'm going to try to get better!  Here he is on the day he turned 3 months old

Christmas Card (Professional) Pics - Lovejoys

We went out to Aunt Kerry's house on Santa Ana Valley Rd to have the Lovejoys take some pictures of us for our Christmas card.  It is so beautiful out there, the setting is perfect with the Santa Anas in the background, the old barns and open fields.  I think Nick was loving the location.  It was a little drizzly so we had to do it quickly.

Aaden cooperated despite not having a nap.  He was really mesmorized by the camera lens - so we weren't able to get him to crack a smile.  But they came out great!

2-3 Months

10/30/10-11/29/10

• Aaden's favorite things right now are his swing, the pictures on the wall still, diaper changes!, bright colors, and bullshitting with Pappy (his words, not mine)
• At 11 weeks he started sleeping through the night!!  Woohoo!  He sleeps from about 10pm-5am.  It's so awesome! (the first night was the night of Aaron's surprise 30th birthday party)
• He is becoming more and more interested in his hands.  Everyone notices how much he regards his own hands now.  He looks at them more, moves them more and opening and closing them and also touching more things.
• He started having "conversations" with people where he coos in response to someone talking to him.  It's the cutest thing ever and I have it on video a few times.  He smiles, coos, repeats sounds and he just gets a kick out of it.  The people he likes to "talk" to the most are Pappy, Uncle Alec, and Emmy.
• At 12 weeks he started putting his hands in his mouth a lot more and sucking on them.  He's also sucking his upper lip in...maybe he's starting to teeth??  Or he's just discovering new things.  One night when Ann was holding him, he sucked on her chin so much that it gave her a hickey!!

• I started back to work on the 22nd of November.  It was actually a good week to go back to work since it was only a 2 day work week.  It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, it's nice to get back to the swing of thigs.  Ann came and watched Aaden at the house for us which definitely made the whole work transition easier!
• Aaden had his first Thanksgiving!  No food for him this year though...formula and breastmilk were on his menu ;)  

Giants Win the World Series!!!!!!

It's been a very exciting year for the Giants!  We have been watching all season and there were times where we were sure that they were out of the running but they fought hard, played well and proved to the East Coast that they are contenders!  They beat the Rangers in the World Series on the day that Aaden turned 9 weeks!  It was so freakin' exciting!  It's the first World Series they've won in 56 years and the first they've won since moving to SF in '58.  It was an awesome season and so fun to watch...I like to think that Aaden brought them a little bit of luck ;)

Aaden's First Halloween

We celebrated Aaden's 1st Halloween.  He was a monkey.  We think that he hated his costume because it was fleece and it was a really hot day but he still looked adorable!  We went around and "trick or treated".  We went and saw Aaron's parents, Michael & Jenny and the kids, my Dad, Katie & Seth and Alivia, The Lovejoys, and Aunt Krissie and Uncle Danny all before ending at my Mom & Kenny's house to watch the Giants in the World Series.

2 Months Old

I totally forgot until way late to take a picture of Aaden on his 2 month birthday.  Here he is, staring at his pictures of course. ;)
