Easter 2012

We woke up early on Easter Sunday - we had a lot to prepare for since we were hosting again this year.  First things first - we had to check out what the Easter Bunny brought for Aaden!

He got new sandals, some DVDs, 2 new Dr. Suess books, 2 new hats,
a bubble wand, new forks and eggs filled with fruit snacks and bunny grahams.
Oh and some mini chocolate chip cookies.

We made the mistake of not feeding him breakfast before giving him his Easter basket.
This kid is sooo hungry when he first wakes up. So needless to say,
he wasn't really into opening the basket. He was really only interested in the snacks.
He really liked the cookies
 And the forks

Checking his basket to see if there was any more food in there.
Sorry kiddo!
After opening his basket - we had to get things ready since we had about 50 people coming over at 1130. My mom came over early to help decorate while I cooked and did other prep.
The beautiful irises my mom brought over.

And...Cupcakes with Cadbury Mini-Eggs.
(unfortunately, these cupcakes did not taste very good, in my opinion)

When it was time for the Easter egg hunt,
Aaden had no interest in finding eggs...
especially after he found the "baawwl"

He was in heaven!

He did manage to find one cracked egg

After egg hunting - it was time for the piñata!
(We had piñatas on Easter when we were kids
so I decided to bring the tradition back)
Aaden had the first turn since he's the youngest...

Then it was Colton's turn
Then Ellie's

 And then Ethan's
 And then Emery's turn
And then Chase's

 And then Tyler's
And finally, Jaya's! And she busted it open right away!
Mad dash for the candy!

I think everyone had a great time.
We had a lot of good food and as always great company.
It was pretty windy and got a little cold so a few of us went inside and watched old home videos from Easters when we were little.

And that was "the end" of our Easter
